Manila Bulletin’s esteemed magazine for women – Sense and Style holds its tribute party for editorial consultant, Julie Yap-Daza at Sentosia Condominiums. Keeping a sense of style, guests arrived at Sentosia, driving through the streets then being dropped off at the fountain at the Sentosia clubhouse, beside the picturesque infinity pool. They then proceeded to register at the welcome table, and are then ushered to the second floor function area where the program was done.
Themed as a tea party, the Sense and Style get-together was decorated with yellow flowers; the latest fashion from budding and well-known designers adorned the stairway to the function room at the second floor. At the top of the stairway, at the second floor large displays of the various covers of Sense and Style, featuring the different ladies who have made it to the first few issues towers over guests as they walk by.
The function room was transformed beautifully into an excellent cocktail venue, with paintings on display (and up for sale to interested collectors and buyers). Cocktail tables were dressed with white covers with yellow rose centrepieces and candles. As soon as you enter the function room, music from the organ originates from your right, while the appetizing scent from the buffet table comes from the left.
The third floor of the Sentosia clubhouse, designed as a meditation garden became a stage area for a live band and tables to enjoy the music, along with drinks in hand.
It was a special event for Sense and Style, when those who make up the magazine, and its partners get together to celebrate the magazine’s celebration of “woman”. That night, Sense and Style reaffirms its commitment to provide women what they want.
